Ryan Reynolds has explained why Channing Tatum was a “menace” to Wrexham during the Hollywood superstar’s visit to North Wales.

'Magic Mike' actor Tatum became the latest A-list guest to attend a game at SToK Racecourse when joining close friend Reynolds at a League One clash between the Red Dragons and Cambridge United on December 14, 2024.

He mingled with players behind the scenes, filming a promotional advert in the process, and made a point of making Phil Parkinson’s squad feel as relaxed as possible in his presence. That did, however, require a little mayhem to be caused.

THE GOSSIP

Discussing said shenanigans on the ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ documentary series, Reynolds revealed that he was unaware of Tatum’s antics. He was left a little concerned following a text exchange that gave little away.

Reynolds said: “Channing Tatum, he’s in my top five loves of all time. He’s also a menace. He went out with the entire club. Someone might be dead!

“I’m going to read you Channing’s text to me. ‘Oops, I might have had toooooo much fun with the boys’. Long pause. Twenty minutes between this. Then I get: ‘I’m sorry.” I said: ‘Please don’t break any of them.’ And then I get: ‘Definitely didn’t break any of them, but….” Long pause.

“Then I get: ‘We definitely got way more loose than I was ever planning to. It happened and I’m sorry’. Long pause. What happened? [Reynolds asked] I get this back: ‘It’s definitely gonna be on the internet.’ Communication over.”
